Ingredients

1lb (450g) stew meat

2 medium potatoes

1 small onion, chopped

3 small cloves garlic

1/2 cup white wine

2 tbsp tomato paste

Pepper and salt to season

Method

Heat a little oil in a saucepan (let it get quite hot.)

Add the stew meat.

Lower the heat.

Brown the meat and then add the onion, garlic and wine.

Stir and cook for 4-5 minutes.

Now add tomato paste, salt and pepper to season and simmer for 10 minutes.

Add the potatoes and enough water to cover.

Bring to the boil and then reduce the heat.

Cook until the meat and potatoes are tender.
