Portuguese Sweet Rolls Recipe
Ingredients 1/2 cup mashed potato 3/4 cup potato water from cooked potato, 105 degrees 2 pkts active dry yeast 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk or milk 3/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup melted margarine 3 eggs, lightly beaten 1/2 tsp nutmeg 1 tsp grated orange peel 5 cup flour Method Add yeast to potato water cooled to 105 degrees. Set aside for 5 minutes. Then add milk, sugar, margarine, eggs, nutmeg, orange peel, and potato mixture. Then gradually add and mix 4 1/2 cups flour; spread remaining flour on board and knead dough in remaining flour; add enough flour to keep dough from being sticky, knead until smooth and satiny. leave to rise in greased bowl until doubled.
