Portuguese Sweet Bread 2 Recipe
Ingredients 2 pkt. dry yeast 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup very warm water 1 tsp salt 3/4 cup milk 1/2 cup butter 4 eggs 7 cup white flour Method Sprinkle yeast and 1 tsp sugar into 1/2 cup hot water and leave to stand to 10 minutes. Heat the milk, butter, salt and remaining sugar in small pan. Cool to lukewarm. 3. Beat eggs in small bowl. Add to yeast mixture. Add 3 cups flour and milk mixture. Add 4 cups flour to make soft dough. Turn out on floured surface and knead for 10 minutes. Put dough in buttered bowl until doubled in bulk. Punch down. Let rest 10 minutes. Divide into 4 loaves and leave to double in size again.. Bake at 325 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Cooks Comments and Tips . |
