Portuguese Portugese Sweet Bread 27 Recipe
Ingredients 5lb (2.2kg) Flour 1 doz. eggs 3 1/2 pints milk 2lb (900g) sugar 4 envelopes yeast 2 tbsp salt 5oz (140g) butter 8oz (225g) Crisco shortening Method Mix yeast per directions. Melt butter and Crisco and set aside. Liquefy milk and sugar; set aside. Beat eggs with butter/Crisco mixture. Add sugar and milk mixture. Add all of this to flour and salt. Use hands to mix. Add yeast and finish mixing. leave to rise for 3 hours. Bake for 35 minutes at 275 degrees. Cooks Comments and Tips . |
