Portuguese Portugese Sweet Bread 18 Recipe
Ingredients 2 pkts yeast 1/4 cup water, warm 1 cup milk 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup butter 1 tsp salt 6 cup flour 3 eggs, well beaten 1 egg, beaten Method Dissolve yeast in water. Scald milk and add sugar, butter and salt. Add 2 cups flour, beat until smooth. Beat in 3 eggs and yeast. Add remaining flour. Knead 15 to 20 minutes. Add more flour as needed. leave to rise until doubled in size. (Dough is ready if indentation remains when touched.) Punch down and place in two greased bowls. leave to rise until double. Brush with beaten egg and bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Cooks Comments and Tips . |
