Portuguese Holiday Bread Recipe
Ingredients 5lb (2.2kg) flour 2 doz. eggs 12oz (340g) butter, melted oil oil heated with butter 2 envelopes yeast 1 tbsp baking powder Method Beat eggs, mix flour, slowly add butter and oil. Melt yeast in warm water and add to flour mixture. Turn out on floured board and knead about 8 to 10 minutes. Knead for 20 minutes. Leave to rise for 2 hours. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Divide into 4 loaves and leave to rise for two hours. Cook for 30 to 45 mins. until golden brown. Cooks Comments and Tips . |
