Portuguese Breads Recipe
Ingredients 2 yeast cakes 1/4 cup warm water 1/4 cup milk 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup butter 1 tsp salt 3 eggs 5 cup flour Method Dissolve yeast in water. Scald milk and add to sugar, butter and salt. When cool, add eggs and yeast mixture. Sift flour and work into dough. Knead and place in buttered bowl turn cover and leave to rise to double punch down and shape to 2 round loaves. Place in two 9 inch buttered pie plates cover and leave to rise. Brush top with milk. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Cooks Comments and Tips . |
