Italian Focaccia Recipe 2

Recipe for Italian Focaccia Recipe

Ingredients

1lb Bread Dough (white or whole-wheat)

2 tablespoons Olive Oil

Course Sea Salt

TOMATO BASIL TOPPING

6oz Sun-dried Tomatoes (drained and chopped)

 2 tablespoons dried Basil

3 leaves fresh Basil (chopped)

Method

Let the dough rise for about 2 hours until it doubles in size.

Punch out the air and turn onto a lightly floured surface.

Roll out to fit a baking tray or pizza pan.  The dough should be about one inch thick.

Leave for 1 hour to rise and then push indentations into dough with fingertips.

Drizzle generously with olive oil.

Sprinkle with salt, dried basil and sun-dried tomatoes.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees and cook for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and sprinkle with freshly chopped basil (optional)

Slice and serve.
