Italian Bread Recipe 2
Ingredients 10oz Pizza Dough 10oz wilted Spinach (drained and dried) 1lb Mozzarella (grated) 1lb Spicy Pork Sausage, browned 1 jar Pimientos (drained and diced) 4oz Tomato Sauce 4oz Pepperoni (sliced) 2 Eggs (beaten) 12 large green Olives (halved) 1 teaspoon Oregano (dried) 1/2 teaspoon Basil (dried) 1oz finely grated Mozzarella (to top bread) Method Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Roll dough and cut off one quarter of dough the and set aside. Line a greased loaf pan with the large piece of dough. Moisten the dough with water at corners and press to seal. Place half the cheese on the bottom of the dough and top with sausage. Spoon tomato sauce over sausage and sprinkle with oregano and basil. Mix the spinach and one of the beaten eggs and spread the mix over tomato sauce. Layer pimientos on top of spinach and top with remaining cheese. Arrange the pepperoni on top of the cheese and top with the olives. Cover filling with the remaining dough and seal and cover with beaten egg. Cut slits in top of dough to allow steam to escape. Cook for about 40 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with finely grated mozzarella and return to the oven for 2/3 minutes. Allow to cool before removing from pan and slicing. Cooks Comments and Tips You can change the filling of this Italian bread, just leave out any of the ingredients you are not keen on and just increase the amount of your favourites. |
