Bhatoora Recipe
Ingredients 225g Plain flour 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder 1/2 teaspoon Salt 220ml Natural yoghurt Oil for frying Method Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Slowly add the yoghurt and mix into a soft dough. Knead lightly and leave to rest for at least 15 minutes. Now divide the dough into eight portions without rolling into balls. Take one of the portions and form into a ball. Flatten the ball, flour and roll out to a 7 inch circle. Heat the oil until it gets really hot. Place the bhatoora carefully into the hot oil. ( If the oil is hot enough it will quickly rise to the surface). Push it back into the oil with a slotted spoon and then turn it over for a few seconds. Remove the bhatoora from the oil with the slotted spoon and put it on a plate covered with kitchen roll. If not serving immediately, cool and wrap in tin foil. Cooks Comments and Tips Do take care when placing the bhatoora into the hot oil. |
