French Croque-monsieur Recipe
Ingredients 8 slices White bread, trimmed 1/4 cup Butter 4 slices Cooked ham, thin slices 4 slices Swiss cheese, thin slices 2 Eggs 1 tbsp Water Method Butter slices of bread. Make four sandwiches by placing a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese between two slices of bread. Tie with a string. In a dish, combine eggs and water and beat lightly together. Dip sandwiches in egg mixture. In large pan, heat remaining butter. Add sandwiches and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes on each side, or until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted.
