Egyptian Rice With Onions Ruz Ahmar Recipe
Ingredients 2 cups rice 2 onions, chopped very fine 1/2 teaspoon cumin 2-3 garlic cloves, crushed oil salt Method Fry onions until they wilt, then add garlic and cumin and fry, stirring constantly until rich brown. Remove from flame and with the back of a spoon, mash until completely disintegrated. Add rice and fry until all grains are well coated with oil, then add 3 cups of hot salted water, cover, and allow to cook over moderate flame until tender. This dish is usually served with fish.
