Poached Chicken With Basmati Recipe
Ingredients 4 large chicken drumsticks 500ml chicken stock 1 onion, chopped 1tbsp oil 1 tsp ginger paste 1 clove garlic, finely chopped 1/2 tsp turmeric 1/2 tsp chili powder 100g basmati rice seasoning Method Fry the onion in a little oil until softened and then add the garlic, ginger, turmeric and chilli powder and cook for another minute and then set aside. In a large pan poach the chicken in the stock for 10 minutes. Rinse the basmati rice and add to the chicken. Bring to the boil, add the onion and spice mix, and simmer until the rice is tender and the chicken cooked through. Serve with a cucumber and mint salad. Cooks Comments and Tips . |
